Fr. Jerome Lavigne is a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In September of 1999, he entered Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon and graduated with his BA in philosophy in May 2004. In September of 2004, he entered St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario, to pursue studies in theology. He was ordained a Deacon May 31, 2008. In April of 2009 he graduated from St. Peter’s with his Advanced Masters of Divinity and was ordained to the Holy Priesthood of Jesus Christ on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, June 19, 2009.
He is currently Pastor of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and the Vicar for Catholic Education.
Sharon van der Sloot is a convert to Catholicism who loves to share her faith with others. A former editor and writer for the Catholic Women’s Group, ENDOW, she is the author of two study guides: On the Christian Meaning of Suffering and God is Love. She recently completed her training as a Spiritual Director in the Ignatian tradition through the Lanteri Center (Oblates of the Virgin Mary) in Denver, CO. Sharon has been married to Henry – her inspiration and the love of her life – for the past 30 years. They have three wonderful children, two beautiful daughters-in-law, five amazing grandchildren, and two ‘granddogs’. They enjoy music, travelling, bike riding, and hanging out together.
Kelley Holy grew up in a Lutheran family (with Baptist grandparents) but has been Catholic her entire adult life. While attending Texas A&M University, she met and married her husband David whose petroleum engineering background would take them all over the southern U.S., to Russia, and then ultimately to Calgary, Canada, where they’ve made their home for the last 16 years. She’s a teacher, part-time writer, and a full-time mom of 5, three of whom are still living at home. Kelley was thrilled to become a grandmother for the first time last year to little Samuel. She enjoys biking, hiking, and playing board games with her family as well as reading and hosting dinner parties.
Fr. Nathan Siray is a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. After a year at McGill University in 2002, he entered Mount Angel Seminary in Oregon in 2003 and graduated with a BA Honours in Philosophy in May 2006. He entered St. Augustine’s Seminary in Toronto, Ontario in September 2006 and graduated with a Masters of Divinity and Pontifical Sacred Baccalaureate of Theology from the University of Toronto in May 2011. He was ordained to the Diaconate on May 15th 2010 and to the Holy Priesthood on June 10th 2011.
He is currently the pastor of The Shrine Church of Our Lady of the Rockies in Canmore, Alberta, Canada and the Diocesan Master of Ceremonies.
Fr. Cristino Bouvette is a Roman Catholic priest serving in the Diocese of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. In September of 2004, he entered St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario and graduated with his BA in philosophy in May 2007. He remained at St. Peter’s to pursue studies in theology, there completing his Advanced Masters of Divinity through the University of Western Ontario. He was ordained a Deacon 24 July 2011 and was ordained to the Sacred Priesthood of Jesus Christ on 22 June 2012.
He is currently the Director of Vocations for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary.
Peggy Gibson grew up Anglican, wandering in Narnia and Middle Earth. She was received with her husband and two adult children into full communion through the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St Peter. The Ordinariate is equivalent to a diocese, created by the Vatican in 2012 for people nurtured in the Anglican tradition who wish to become Catholic. A wife and working mother, she is grateful for the shared journey of family life, the professional teamwork of health care, and the chance to contribute to the harmonies of parish liturgical music.
Luke Gervais serves as the webmaster for Swords of Truth. He is a cradle Catholic who came to a deeper relationship with our Lord in high school and hasn’t looked back since. He has diplomas in Sacred Studies and Leadership & Prayer Ministry from the John Paul II Bible School and is currently working on his BA in Theology.
