The church of San Stefano Rotondo in Rome has numerous frescos depicting the early martyrs of the Church. Being a circular church, as you walk around the it in a clockwise direction, you can follow the saga of the martyrs from the Crucifixion of Christ up until the 4th century. The circular design of the building also helps whoever stands within to see how all martyrdom comes from the cross and returns to the cross for the glory of God and sanctification of the Church.
