"Everyone who belongs to the Truth hears my voice…" (John 18:37)

Are those with same-sex attraction welcome in the Catholic Church?

openQ: Are those with same-sex attraction welcome in the Catholic Church?
A: Yes, absolutely. Recognizing that it is the acts and not the inclinations that draw someone to sin, those with same-sex attraction must embrace this cross in their lives and learn to love in a celibate manner. I promise you that celibacy can be very fulfilling and life-giving, if you dare to accept it! We welcome them, we journey with them, and we encourage them to embrace a very happy life. There are programs within the Church and in our diocese (through the Pastoral Centre) called Courage (for men and women) and Encourage (for their families), which help support individuals to live chaste and fulfilling lives.
