“What is truth?” (Jn 18:38) The answer to this question posed by Pontius Pilate is found in the words of Jesus Himself, who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (Jn 14:6).
“Swords of Truth” is dedicated to exploring and sharing the truths of our Catholic faith among a society that questions whether there is such a thing as truth, and if there is, whether it is still relevant in our modern world. We yearn to have something in which we can put our trust; we long to know with certainty that there are things on which we can rely. “Relativism” would have us believe that there is no right or wrong, that our thoughts, experiences, and beliefs can only be understood when viewed in relation to other things such as language, culture, or biology. It is a worldview that would suggest that truth is subjective, that it depends solely on our own personal preferences and values. Yet, if we refer to the Gospel, we quickly see that relativism is in direct opposition to the teaching of Christ. There is truth, and we can know what it is.
Jesus’ words are the starting point of our mission. It is in He who is Truth that every searching soul ultimately finds happiness and peace – even though His truth will challenge us at times.
As you open your hearts and minds to exploring the truths of our Catholic Faith, we pray that Our Lady will envelop you deep inside her Protective Mantle and lead you into the depths of her Son’s pierced heart; the land of inner Peace and interior Freedom.
